Follow Our Journey

In 2001, we began our journey into the world of adoption. After many months of paperwork and delays, we finally became parents. We brought home our beautiful daughter, J, from China in 2003. She was 8 months old. Knowing that we wanted more children, we started the process to adopt our second child in 2004. In 2005, we brought home another beautiful daughter, R, from China. She was 10 months old. We took J back to China to adopt R, and it was an amazing experience.

By this time, we were determined that we wanted to bring home two more children. A family of 6, 2 parents and 4 kids, seemed perfect to us. And that is where this blog begins.

Shortly after bringing home R, we started the process to adopt another child from China. We were logged in with China on 6/2/06. Had everything gone as planned, we would have had her home in 2007 or 2008. Things didn't happen the way we thought they would, and our journey took a wonderful twist. Because we are not expecting the baby to come home until around 2010, we began looking for a child to adopt in the meantime. This led us to our baby L, who is currently 13 months and waiting for us in Taiwan.

We are so excited! Our two daughters from China are now 5 1/2 and almost 4. We are hoping to take them along on our trip to Taiwan, but it's a complicated decision. J will start kindergarten in the fall, and we will probably travel to Taiwan sometime between September and December. We have a little bit of time to decide as we wait for our documents to go through the Taiwan court process.
